4th Annual Dick Beiden Scholarship Tournament
Our 4th Annual Dick Beiden Scholarship Tournament was another wonderful day of friendly competition, laughter, and community spirit! We were especially honored to welcome our 2026 scholarship recipient, Tiana, who joined us for the festivities and cheered on our teams during the championship playoffs. We hope she caught the pickleball bug—we'd love to see her out on the courts with us in the near future! The day was filled with smiles, great rallies, spirited competition, and

PRPC Connections - Getting to know...
Paul A. By Lori L. TIMING The day Janet sent me a text about my next Community Connectors candidate to interview for PRPC, I was already in the car with him. Ironically enough, Paul, his wife Cass, and I were on a road trip to look at horses for sale. We were both looking for a unicorn to purchase that day. I shared the good news that he had been selected, and remarked on how amazing it was that we all happened to be in the car together at that exact moment. Paul smiled and s

Independence Celebration
Our members sure know how to celebrate! 🇺🇸🎉 On Thursday, July 2, the Paso Robles Pickleball Club came together to celebrate 250 years of American independence. Players showed off their best red, white, and blue attire, enjoyed a fun-filled morning of round robin play, and cooled off afterward with some delicious frozen treats. The courts were full, the smiles were everywhere, and the turnout was fantastic. Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and helped make it such

May & June Birthday Celebrations at the Club
🎉🎂 Happy Birthday to our pickleball friends celebrating birthdays in May and June! 🎂🎉 What a wonderful day of pickleball, laughter, friendship, and, of course, some fantastic treats! We’re featuring a few of our birthday celebrants along with one of the two generous bakers who helped make the day extra special. A big shout-out and thank you to Debbie T. and Andy (although we hear the real baking credit belongs to Andy’s lovely wife, Darcelle) for providing the delicious g

PRPC Connections - Getting to know...
DYAN Y. By Morgan C. If you’ve spent time around the Paso Robles pickleball community, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Dyan - and if you have, you probably already know what her friends and teammates mean when they describe her as warm, friendly, and full of positivity. Dyan moved to the Central Coast in July 2014 from Upland, California, transferring from her work in Diamond Bar to the state hospital in Atascadero. Her professional life has been rooted in service

Mama Loves Pickleball
A number of our members hit the road for pickleball last weekend! Okay, so the journey only took them to Templeton, but it still counts as traveling! 😄 We are incredibly proud of all the Paso Robles Pickleball Club members who competed and brought home medals at this annual event. Your hard work, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm continue to make our club shine both on and off the courts. Congratulations to all who participated, and a special shout-out to our medal winners! Keep

PRPC Connections - Getting to know...
Dodie L. By Osteo Dave I had not met Dodie L. (pronounced Dough’-dee) until I interviewed him for this profile, even though we both regularly play pickleball at Centennial Park. He and his wife, Chris, play at the crack of dawn and leave before I arrive – well after dawn has fully cracked and the early birds have gone home to breakfast on worms. Chris introduced him to pickleball over a year ago and Dodie immediately found it as fun and addictive as the rest of us. Dodi

PRPC Connections - Getting to know...
Randy W. By Lori L. Have you ever met someone whose life story is so captivating that hours pass like minutes? I most definitely have. His name is Randy W. ,and to say he has lived an interesting life would be a gross understatement. After playing two rounds of nine-hole golf with him—paired with hours of engaging conversation and countless iced teas (him) and Diet Cokes (me)—I realized I was listening to one of the most incredible life stories I’ve ever heard. Most of you ha

Birthday Celebrations at the Club
We had a sweet time celebrating our March & April birthdays at PRPC! 🎉 A huge thank-you to our wonderfully generous (and seriously talented) bakers, Nancy M and Nancy P, who treated us all to some delicious homemade goodies — and yes, they were as amazing as they sound! 🍰 Our ever-dedicated (and clearly hard-working 😉) Board Treasurer, Bryan C., couldn’t resist striking a pose by the treat table, joined by a few of our fabulous birthday stars. Be sure to check out the boar

JACKIE R. By Janice VB Jackie R’s life began in the countryside in southern England shortly after WWII ended. Of course she didn't experience the war, but did recall that food was rationed for most of her young childhood. When the war broke out her father was a student at Cambridge University but left after one year to enlist in the army and fought on the front lines in France and Germany, becoming a colonel by the age of 24. Her mom served in the WRNS (Women’s Royal Naval S

PRPC Connections - Getting to Know...
Scott E. Writer’s note: As our club begins a new feature on our website to highlight members of PRPC, I was delighted that I was chosen to write about Scott E. Scott was one of the first people that I met when I started playing pickleball in 2025 and has always been kind and ready to give advice if I ask for it. Scott is one of the really good people in our club and it was also a pleasure to talk with him and get to know him even better as I prepared this article. *********
